Lord
Howe Island's airstrip always features a picturesque approach which can
sometimes become quite exciting! The ERSA notes severe turbulence can be
expected if the wind is blowing from the south and that 'sometimes a landing
may not be possible' with the nearest diversion being Port Macquarie - 330-odd
miles to the west!
