Piper Archer II & III
Lilydale operates an Archer II and Archer III and finds them both to be ideal touring aircraft. They offer significantly better performance over the Warriors while being no more complex to fly. The Archer III is particularly well suited for long-range cruising at 110-120kts.

General Aircraft Information
The Piper Archer II and III have evolved from the Piper 180 which was a high-powered version of the basic 140. The Archer II introduced in 1975 was the first to have the tapered wing pioneered by the Warrior two years earlier.
Like the Warrior, the Archer was a great success with thousands being built before Piper closed its doors in 1989. The Archer returned to production in 1991 after undergoing an extensive upgrade. Basically, the new Archer IIIs differ from their predessors by having slightly smaller windows, improved cowl streamlining, new avionics, better soundproofing and a much more comfortable interior.
