Where are they now - Jack Terry

LFS stays in touch with many of our past students as they progress through the world of aviation. Last week one of our former students achieved his wings with the RAAF after a very interesting journey.

Jack Terry did his TIF with us in January 2011 and achieved his General Flying Progress Test (now RPL) in September while finishing Year 12. Working hard as a tennis coach and later as a baggage handler at Tullamarine he completed his PPL in April 2012 and then steadily built experience over the next year and a half including getting his tailwheel and aerobatic ratings and flying friends up to the Birdsville Races.

In June 2014 he achieved his CPL in Arrow PAR then kept chipping away including some pipeline inspection flying before trying his luck in Darwin in 2017 and landing a job flying Piper PA32 Lances and Saratogas to remote communities.

Having cracked the 1000hr mark Jack then applied and was accepted to the RAAF in 2018 and trained in CT4 Airtrainers at Tamworth then Pilatus PC21s in Perth.  Last week he earned his RAAF wings and has been posted to the BAe Hawk jet trainers of 79SQN at Williamtown. Congratulations Jack!
